Juergen Teller for ASICS x Kiko Kostadinov campaign

The latest iteration in ASICS x Kiko Kostadinov collaboration has been released in the form of the GEL-KORIKA trainer. The shoe, inspired by Kostadinov’s A/W 19 show, features an athletic silhouette created with a range of forward-thinking materials.

The campaign shot by Juergen Teller features self-portraits of the German photographer in various locations around Europe. With art direction from Jamie Reid and Branka Neves, the images follow Teller and the GEL-KORIKA trainer on what looks like a holiday; the pair are seen together in a hotel room, in a field of wheat and in front of a fountain.

The shoe mixes the classic design of ASICS’ basketball sneaker with Kostadinov’s contemporary aesthetic whilst maintaining athleticism as a key competent with the designs featuring nanofibers specifically developed to provide bounce and shock absorption for long distance running.

The GEL-KORIKA trainer comes in 4 colourways, the first designed by Kostadinov for the menswear models see a dark and sleek trainer come in black on black or black and silver. Over on the womenswear models, sisters Laura and Deanna Fanning designed the latter two models in vibrant hues of red and pink, and purple and blue.
