Louis Vuitton reinvents historic bags designs

Virgil Abloh, the artistic director for menswear at Louis Vuitton has presented the “Monogram Legacy” leather goods collection for Pre-Spring/Summer 2020.

The new range features a total of five offerings, inspired by the vast Louis Vuitton archives. Taking the signature monogram canvas leather, the collection re-imagines classic silhouettes and also adds a contemporary twist on the heritage accessories, with Abloh’s signature design cues.

The Louis Vuitton Mini Noé has been turned into the “Milk Box” bag for the season, featuring a unique top-opening equipped with gold-toned hardware. The “Phone Box” bag features the same detailing, and is the ideal size for carrying day-to-day essentials. As for the larger accessories, the Saumur Messenger PM bag boasts two exterior pockets atop the monogrammed silhouette, and sports an adjustable padded shoulder strap. The Cabas Voyage Tote Bag and Steamer PM messenger bag are silhouettes from 1901, all featuring Virgil Abloh’s recognizable chain and safety pin closure. Lastly, a duffle bag is also arriving as part of the collection.
